Thursley Pavilion: A MAJOR step forward!

An update from the Trustees of Thursley Pavilion

We are delighted to report some really encouraging news: planning permission has now been granted for the new Thursley Pavilion!

This is a major milestone for the project and brings us a significant step closer to delivering the new sporting and community facility that we have all been working towards.

First, we want to say a very big thank you to everyone in the village who took the time to go online and support the planning application. The response from the community was tremendous, and we have no doubt that such a strong demonstration of local support helped reinforce the case for the new pavilion. It really does show what can be achieved when a village gets behind a project.

There is still one important consent to secure. Because the pavilion is situated on registered common land, we also require approval under Section 38 of the Commons Act. That application is already progressing through the consultation process, and we hope that the strong community support demonstrated during planning will also help as this next application is considered.

Meanwhile, the trustees are continuing to work on fundraising, the detailed building plans and preparations for construction. There is still plenty to do, but with planning permission now secured, the project has moved another substantial step forward.

Our ambition remains to create a pavilion that will serve not only cricket and other sports, but the wider village community too.

For the first time, we can really begin to see the new Thursley Pavilion becoming a reality.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported us so far. Your encouragement, enthusiasm and generosity are making a real difference, and we look forward to keeping you updated as we move towards the next exciting stage.
