Welcome to the Thursley Pavilion Project Website
From Pavilion to Community Hub: Creating a Space for Everyone

The Project
The Thursley Pavilion Project will transform the existing pavilion into a flexible, inclusive, year-round community hub. It will provide accessible space for sport, wellbeing, social, and community activities, helping to increase participation, reduce isolation, and support healthier lifestyles for residents of all ages. Developed through local consultation, the project will maximise the use of an existing village asset, strengthen community connections, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the recreation ground for future generations.
Environment and Setting
The Pavilion sits at the edge of a nationally important landscape, adjoining land designated as a Special Protection Area. From the outset, the project has been shaped with full awareness of this sensitive context and conceived as a modest gateway between the village and the Nature Reserve, helping to guide, inform and manage access rather than intensify it.
Progress Snapshot
The Thursley Pavilion Project is progressing well. Initial community consultation has been completed, with strong local support for transforming the pavilion into a year-round community hub. Feedback from residents is helping to shape the project’s vision, priorities, and potential uses.
A planning pre-application was submitted in mid-December 2025, and a CIL Fund Neighbourhood Funding grant application was submitted in the first week of December. The project team is now refining proposals, reviewing feedback, and preparing next steps, with further updates to be shared as the project develops.

November 2025 Public Meeting to discuss plans to transform the cricket pavilion to an all-year round facility for the community.
